Free Roaming Observer Mode
I'd like to see some kind of free roaming camera/observer mode added, for the PvE world I can't remember if free camera mode is currently available in PvP (would be great in there too if it isn't already)
I've no idea if it would be technically possible for PvE mode, though looking at the official Guild Wars Wintersday Memories video it seems to be a free roaming observer mode... presumably a dev/mod mode. Would be nice to have that available to everyone, perhaps with some limits? (my own interest would be from a movies creation point of view)

who in the world would you observe? the top pve guilds farming dyes? it would be hard to distinguish who to even put on obs mode, unless you want it so you could observe strictly the map instead of other players.

I think it would be nice to be able to control the actual hovering place of the camera rather than having chase cam. Maybe have certain areas observable, or the option to join a party as an observer?

You can always use first person view to act as a cameraman, and zoom out for action shots.

From what I can tell, the matches for PvP are saved in a server and then redistributed to the observers, which is why I think they aren't free roaming. I also agree that the wintersday movie was in a special dev camera mode. Also how would you choose which server you want to view in PvE? There thousands of people playing the same map, how would you choose which one you wanted?

it's a nice idea, though i can see lots of impracticability in it...
also, how can you actually "select" a pve instance?! there's gotta be millions happening at the same time, unlike pvp...
